2007. Sabin Salaberri Urzelai
Sabin Salaberri Urzelai was born in Aramaio, in 1934. From an early age he showed great intuition for music. He opted for the ecclesiastical career path and studied at Vitoria Seminary, giving his first mass on 15th August 1960. He was appointed music prefect of the Seminary in 1960 and held the post until he left the clergy in 1977. Salaberri"s life has been closely linked to musical teaching, as well as the creation of original music, of which he has an extensive catalogue of works. He is considered to be one of the most important musicians in Álava.
